The easiest way to share files between computers is by using PairDrop. It's easier than using AirDrop, is cross-platform, and will even work across campuses and networks. And best of all, there's nothing required to install to begin using it.
To use PairDrop, go to https://share.eblah.com on the two devices that need to share files. In the example below, we're sharing a photo from a Windows computer to a Mac computer.
Using Context or Share Menus
PairDrop supports sharing content using your devices share sheet or context menu.
Windows and Android
To add PairDrop to the share menus on Windows and Android, simply install the web app using Edge (Windows) or Chrome (Android).
Apple Devices
If on an Apple device, you can install this shortcut. Note that not every file type can be shared using this shortcut, but most common types (images and videos) can. If you need to share another type, you can use the website and share that way.
Sharing Across Campuses
You can click the icon with three people in the top right corner to join a room, which allows for easy sharing across campuses or Internet.
Pairing Devices Permanently
You can pair your device permanently using the link icon in the top right corner. This allows you to automatically accept new files as they are being sent from a device and allows the device to always show up, regardless if it is currently on the network or not.
