This section outlines the standard video playback methods currently recommended across all campuses.
Unless otherwise specified, the following guidelines apply to all locations.
The methods described below are the approved standards for live capture and playback operations.
Primary Playback
The DE and K2 systems are the recommended primary devices for DVR playback.
Due to ongoing network issues that are being resolved with network upgrades at each campus, the DE is currently designated as the primary streaming device, while the K2 should serve as the backup.
Production Directors have been informed individually if these recommendations do not apply to their specific campus.
When operating outside the Main Auditorium (MA), the video router may be used to route the DE or K2 output to other screens within the campus.
Secondary Playback
ProPresenter should be used as the secondary backup method for all video playback. If VLC is properly configured, it can also serve as an excellent secondary option.
For imported video content (such as the At the Movies series), ProPresenter should serve as the primary playback method.
Tertiary Playback
The following tools may be used as tertiary playback options when required:
- QuickTime
- VLC Player
- Web players (eg, Resi)
- Playlister streams
- Resolume Arena
In setups limited to an Apple TV or laptop for live streaming, the Apple TV should be used as the primary playback source, with a web player serving as the backup.
