For long-form video segments not played out using DVR methods (e.g., At the Movies message videos or Highlands News), the following are the recommended playback options.
Primary Playback
ProPresenter is the recommended primary playback system for long-form content.
Alternatively, if VLC Player has been configured to play videos in a separate window, it may be used as a lightweight, low-resource alternative.
Videos should not be imported directly into the K2. The K2 system supports a limited range of codecs, which can lead to playback errors or other unexpected issues.
However, recording video output from another device and subsequently playing it back through the K2 is a supported and recommended workflow.
For certain events, video files may also be pushed to the DE units. In such cases, the DE can serve as an excellent primary playback device.
Secondary Playback
Resolume Arena, QuickTime Player, or other similar applications may be used as secondary playback options when needed.
Resolume Arena should not be used as a primary playback device for long-form video files.
Users may experience audio synchronization issues or performance instability when attempting to do so.
